When Star War’s director George Lucas and his Industrial Light Magic, needed some tight, high-speed aerial footage for his Nissan Super Bowl commercial, they called for the AirStar CamCopter, Air Drones mother company.
The commercial was broadcast during the 2006 Super Bowl Football game and was viewed by more than 1 billion people worldwide. It gave audiences an exciting "bird's eye view" that only CamCopter could provide. We also performed the first commercial to be entirely shot with one camera.
To that point, filming with one camera was unheard of in the industry. The filming was performed on a AirStar Camera Ship for the Nissan Car company in Australia.
AirStar CamCopter Aerial Photography Packages create panoramic views for movies, commercials, infomercials and advertisements.
Airstar CamCopter Systems has many television, movie, commercial and real estate credits to its name. The CamCopter System was developed by Air Starand requires a pilot and an assistant to operate the camera, (which can be viewed live, via a monitor), aerial footage can be taken from a hover up to fifty miles per hour.
Previously, the only way to get aerial footage was from a real helicopter, which can be expensive and, in many cases, too large. Through an elaborate system that includes a smokeless engine and vibration dampening system, which AirStar took more than four years to develop, clear, jiggle-free 360-degree pictures can be obtained.
The high-resolution motion picture camera used has the ability to pan and tilt fully in any direction, and can hold 200 feet of 35mm film. AirStar’s CamCopter is primarily crafted from aircraft aluminum for optimal strength and lightweight. |
